Job summary

Guidehouse seeks a skilled DevOps Engineer in McLean, VA to support development, QA, and operations across multiple applications. You will enable fast, secure software delivery through automation, cloud-native infrastructure, and collaboration across teams.

Responsibilities include deploying apps to Google Cloud/Kubernetes, maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and implementing DevSecOps best practices, with a strong emphasis on monitoring and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4 years equivalent professional experience
• US Citizenship required; must be able to obtain a Public Trust
• Minimum 7+ years in a DevOps-focused role
• Experience in a DevOps environment supporting multiple teams/applications
• Experience deploying/troubleshooting Java-based application stacks (NGINX, Apache HTTPD, JAVA JDK, Apache Tomcat, PostgreSQL)
• Strong understanding of application network configurations (Reverse Proxy, TLS, DNS, Load Balancers, Routers, Firewalls)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Tekton, GitLab, Harness preferred)
• Hands-on experience deploying apps to Google Cloud and/or Kubernetes (OpenShift, GKE, EKS)
• Proficient with IaC and deployment automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, YAML, ArgoCD, HELM)
• Git experience (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket) with branching/merge requests
• Experience with Linux (RHEL 8+) and Windows Server (2016+)
• Experience with DataDog, Splunk, Google Logging and monitoring tools

Responsibilities

• Support build, test, deployment, and monitoring tools in a cloud-hosted infrastructure
• Assist with software releases, infrastructure management, inventory, installations, configurations, and connectivity
• Monitor and optimize system performance using Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk, ELK Stack
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations to improve deployment workflows and reliability
• Ensure security best practices are integrated into pipelines and infrastructure (DevSecOps)
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across development and production environments
• Maintain and modernize legacy systems using cloud-native services and automation
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Cloud Build, Harness
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration with IaC (Terraform, Ansible, YAML, ArgoCD, HELM)
• Deploy and manage containerized apps using Kubernetes/OpenShift/GKE/EKS and Cloud Run(Knative)
