Synergy is hiring an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and sustain automated delivery pipelines for a mission‑critical enterprise environment. You will work with developers, admins, cybersecurity, and QA to enable reliable, secure releases of Java-based applications in a work-from-home role across the United States.

The role emphasizes CI/CD, IaC, containerization, SAST/DAST/SCA, and collaboration within an agile, regulated setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field; additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• 5+ years in DevOps, DevSecOps, software engineering, systems administration, cloud engineering, or related roles.
• 3+ years building CI/CD pipelines for enterprise apps.
• Experience with Git workflows and repository platforms (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure Repos).
• Experience with CI/CD and release automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Bamboo).
• Scripting languages (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Groovy).
• Infrastructure automation/config-management (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef).
• Linux/Unix administration, troubleshooting, and Java-based deployments (Maven/Gradle).
• Automated code quality and security scanning (SAST/DAST/SCA, secrets, vulnerabilities).
• Container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Monitoring/logging tools (Splunk, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana).
• Familiarity with Agile, ITSM, change/incident/release management.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and collaboration skills.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for enterprise apps and platform components.
• Automate build, test, security, packaging, deployment, rollback, and release-validation across environments.
• Develop pipeline-as-code using approved automation tools.
• Integrate automated unit/integration/regression/performance/security testing into the SDLC.
• Establish automated deployment procedures for consistency, traceability, and rapid recovery.
• Support release planning, deployment scheduling, and production readiness reviews.
• Incorporate secure DevSecOps practices throughout the delivery lifecycle.
• Integrate automated security tools (SAST/DAST/SCA/secrets/Vuln scanning) for container images.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to remediate findings and maintain audit evidence.
• Implement secure credential management and environment-specific configuration.
• Support security hardening, patching, and government security requirements.
