Job summary

Cyber Defense Technologies seeks a Senior Systems Security Engineer to unify development, security, and operations. You will design scalable, secure systems and lead security practices across the lifecycle, mentoring junior engineers and guiding security strategy.

A strong DevOps background and deep security expertise are required. The role emphasizes secure automation, incident response, and ongoing threat awareness, with a focus on federal-grade compliance and robust security tooling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years in information security: operations, vulnerability management, testing, patching, log analysis, IDS, or device administration.
• Knowledge of RMF, Windows/Linux, STIGs, ACAS, HBSS, and related tech.
• Ability to work independently and drive solutions from issue to resolution.
• U.S. Citizenship with active Secret clearance or higher; TS/SCI eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure automation for dev, test, and production.
• Maintain infrastructure security and monitoring systems.
• Develop and sustain CI/CD pipelines across environments.
• Remediate system vulnerabilities and security issues.
• Collaborate to improve engineering tools, systems, procedures, and data security.
• Create and maintain security documentation.
• Stay current with security threats and solutions.
• Support incident response and problem management with containment actions.
• Develop strategies for security and scalability.
