Job summary

Ryan is seeking a seasoned DevOps Engineer in New York to design and implement a fully automated CI/CD ecosystem, IDP, and secure cloud networking across AWS, Azure, and on-prem environments. This role blends software development with cloud infrastructure, automation, and platform engineering to accelerate software delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.
• Experience evolving from software development into cloud infrastructure and automation.
• 6+ years hands-on with CI/CD tools (Harness, CloudBees, Jenkins, Azure DevOps) and modern delivery practices.
• Deep development expertise in Java and/or Node.js environments.
• Strong experience with AWS and/or Azure networking, serverless, and managed cloud infra.
• Advanced Terraform and IaC principles expertise.
• Experience designing scalable cloud-native architectures.
• Knowledge of Windows Server and SQL Server incl. Availability Groups.
• Scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation.
• Strong understanding of secure software delivery, Git workflows, and DevSecOps.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Leadership in evaluations and PoC initiatives for new tools.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and documentation mindset.

Responsibilities

• Champion an automation-first DevOps culture with collaboration and transparency.
• Partner with development teams to improve reliability, performance, and deployment practices.
• Architect and implement an Internal Developer Portal (IDP) for self-service infra and templates.
• Integrate IDP with CI/CD, cloud infra, identity management, and observability.
• Design, implement, and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines for Java, .NET, and Node.js apps.
• Build standardized deployment workflows across AWS and Azure environments.
• Implement automated testing, security scanning, and quality gates in pipelines.
• Develop reusable templates and libraries to enforce best practices.
