Job summary

VTG Defense, via Byte Systems, seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Herndon, VA team. You will build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, integrate tools, and troubleshoot deployment issues across on-prem and AWS environments.

The role is 100% on-site at our Herndon office, supporting containerized microservices and DevOps automation. The ideal candidate has strong Linux, scripting (Bash/Python), and OpenShift experience, plus relevant security certifications and container knowledge to drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of relevant DevOps experience, or Master’s with 7+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience with Linux environments and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Experience with OpenShift or similar container platforms and security certifications (DoD IAT II, TS/SCI) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain CI/CD build and deployment pipelines.
• Integrate tools into the pipeline and automate installations of components.
• Troubleshoot pipeline issues across on-prem and cloud environments (AWS/OpenShift).
• Collaborate with teams to deploy containerized microservices with Helm/Docker.
• Develop monitoring scripts and maintain feature documentation for developers.
