Job summary

Category Labs, the AI-native team behind Monad, seeks a Senior DevOps / Infrastructure Engineer to operate a globally distributed validator and node fleet. You’ll own infrastructure-as-code and guardrails for autonomous operations across mainnet and testnet.

You’ll strengthen observability with Prometheus/Grafana, manage Ansible/Terraform and Kubernetes, and drive incident response with Python/Bash tooling as our platform scales with model workloads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering at scale.
• Strong Linux, systemd, networking, and shell fundamentals with SSH debugging.
• Hands-on IaC with Ansible and Terraform required.
• Experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
• Hands-on fluency with AI-assisted engineering and tooling.
• Ability to design automation with safe guardrails and incident response.
• Programming/scripting in Python or Bash; Kubernetes/GitOps experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Monad node fleet: health, sync, upgrades, recovery across mainnet/testnet.
• Own infrastructure-as-code: Ansible, Terraform, Atlantis; Kubernetes/Flux.
• Build observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Loki; dashboards and alerts.
• Automate release pipelines: upgrades, canaries, backups, guardrails.
• Design agentic operations: AI agents, MCP servers, runbooks-as-code.
• Codify operational knowledge into reusable tools for team and agents.
• Harden nodes, manage secrets, reduce manual toil.
