Job summary

Mainspring Energy, based in Menlo Park, CA, is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build, and scale cloud-native infrastructure. You will own multiple projects, upgrade CI/CD pipelines, and integrate AI-driven workflows and autonomous agents into our platform ecosystem.

You will work with Staff and Principal Engineers on advanced patterns, while independently leading initiatives end-to-end to improve reliability, velocity, and operational autonomy.

Qualifications

• Deep production experience with GCP and/or AWS.
• Terraform proficiency with modular, reusable configurations.
• CI/CD pipelines expertise; GitLab and/or GitHub experience.
• Strong Python programming fundamentals for automation.
• Experience integrating AI tooling or agent-based workflows.
• Kubernetes clusters, Helm, and containerized microservices.

Responsibilities

• Lead creation of new infrastructure projects and modernize legacy systems.
• Architect, write, test and manage Terraform IaC across multi-clouds.
• Identify bottlenecks and design new DevOps processes to improve maturity.
• Build automation frameworks using Python and AI agents for operations.
• Own projects end-to-end with minimal daily oversight.
• Review designs with Staff/Senior Engineers for alignment.
• Document architecture diagrams and runbooks; maintain AI prompt libraries.
• Triage security issues and define IAM policies for cloud environments.
• Develop AI-assisted support tools to improve developer self-service.
