Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Senior DevOps Engineer and member of the Customer Facing DevOps team, you will architect, build, and support cloud-based networking and computing infrastructure.

You will embed with the Clinical Information Services team, which manages a data warehouse responsible for hundreds of terabytes of information, central to our machine learning and artificial intelligence products.

In this role...

1. Your focus will be on automating the building, delivering, and supporting their Java application development leveraging Amazon Web Services and Databricks Platforms, using modern Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation), event streaming infrastructure (Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis), and CI/CD Automation platforms (GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
2. You will engage with development and product teams across IDEXX’s Data and Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence to ensure solutions are tuned to meet business requirements by gathering metrics and implementing system enhancements.
3. You will track and understand new developments in cloud technologies and apply them to configurations as applicable.
4. This role offers growth opportunities and exposure to cutting-edge technologies through specialized training sessions.
5. Expect a collaborative environment where DevOps engineers work closely with development teams and Scrum teams to deliver reliable, user-friendly products.
6. You will actively participate in the Scrum/Agile process for the Telemedicine Team.
7. You will collaborate with the software reliability team, developers, and business partners to increase reliability through automation.
8. You will collaborate with fellow DevOps teammates to share knowledge and learn new technologies.

What do you need to succeed?

• 5+ years of experience working within Software Development teams as an embedded DevOps Engineer.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS and Databricks.
• Research and develop DevOps solutions using infrastructure as code (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• System administration experience or exposure, preferably Linux.
• Configuration Management experience (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
• Location: This role is 100% remote, anywhere in the US, with the ability to work 9-5 Eastern time hours.
• Technologies used include AWS, Databricks, Jenkins, Apache Kafka or AWS Kinesis, Terraform Cloud, AWS CloudFormation, Linux, Docker, GitHub Actions, and Advanced Security.

• Base annual salary: $110,000 - $120,000 (flexible)
