Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior DevOps/Platform Engineer to design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deploy to OpenShift with blue-green strategies, and ensure robust observability across the stack.

You will manage Postgres databases, Helm charts, and container security while optimizing Python and React JS build processes for high-velocity releases. OpenShift/Kubernetes certs are a plus.

Qualifications

4+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering role.
Hands-on experience with at least two of Harness, Tekton, Lightspeed (LSE).
Experience with Python and React JS build processes.
Postgres management and Liquibase migrations.
Expert-level Docker with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift.
Experience creating Helm charts and Helm repo management.
Kafka administration and performance tuning.
Snyk or Checkmarx for container security scanning.
Artifactory repository management.
Prometheus/Grafana and ELK/Splunk for observability.
Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent; OpenShift/Kubernetes certs a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using Harness, GitHub, Tekton, and Lightspeed (LSE)
Ensure integration from code commit to production deployment with emphasis on speed, quality, and security
Manage and optimize build, test, and release processes for Python and React JS applications
Manage and automate microservices and application deployments to OpenShift clusters
Implement blue-green, canary, and rolling deployment strategies
Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of OpenShift applications
Oversee Postgres database management and Liquibase schema changes
Author, version, and manage the release lifecycle of Helm charts
Manage Helm charts in the Artifactory repository
Oversee Kafka operational health, including topic management, access control, consumer group tuning, and monitoring
Implement container governance and integrate Snyk/Checkmarx image scanning
Manage container promotion, retention, and patching strategies in Artifactory
Architect, build, and maintain observability using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/Splunk
Develop dashboards, alerts, and logging solutions
Identify and resolve issues through monitoring and root cause analysis

Requirements

4+ years in a DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering role
Hands-on experience with at least two of Harness, Tekton, Lightspeed (LSE)
Experience with Python and React JS build processes
Postgres database management and schema migration using Liquibase
Expert-level knowledge of Docker and container orchestration with Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
Experience creating and managing complex Helm charts
Strong operational experience with Kafka, including administration and performance tuning
Experience with container security scanning tools such as Snyk or Checkmarx
Repository management experience with Artifactory
Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack or Splunk
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
Direct experience with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) preferred
Advanced proficiency in Python preferred
OpenShift or Kubernetes certifications are a plus
Experience in a highly regulated environment such as finance or government preferred
