Jobtailor is seeking a senior technical leader to define and evolve enterprise cloud platforms, Kubernetes/OpenShift, observability, and platform reliability. You will drive a reliability-first and automation-first culture, standardize platforms, and guide leadership on complex technical decisions.

The role requires extensive experience in cloud engineering, SRE, and platform modernization, with a strong emphasis on automation and operational excellence.

Qualifications

7+ years of Engineering experience or equivalent through work, training, or education.
7+ years in Software/Platform/Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or SRE.
5+ years designing and implementing CI/CD, IaC, and automation solutions.
5+ years with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar container platforms.
5+ years leading enterprise-scale platform modernization or cloud transformation initiatives.
3+ years defining engineering standards, architecture patterns, or platform strategies.
3+ years with software delivery, automation, security, and resiliency practices.
3+ years influencing senior leaders to drive engineering outcomes.
Deep understanding of SRE: SLOs/SLIs, incident management, observability, disaster recovery.
Expertise in observability/monitoring: Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry.
CKA, Red Hat OpenShift, AWS/Azure/GCP certifications preferred.
On-site work ability; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

Drive the strategy, architecture, and evolution of enterprise cloud platforms and container platforms.

Job description

Serve as the senior technical leader responsible for the strategy, architecture, and evolution of enterprise cloud platforms, infrastructure SRE, Kubernetes/OpenShift, observability, and platform reliability
Drive a reliability-first and automation-first approach to improve resiliency, scalability, operational excellence, and engineering efficiency
Establish standardized platforms, self-service capabilities, cloud-native engineering practices, platform security, and container platform standards
Advise leadership on applications, network, information security, database, operating systems, and web technologies for complex business and technical needs
Lead strategy and resolution of highly complex enterprise challenges, delivering long-term, large-scale solutions
Translate advanced technology experience and strategic business objectives into technical engineering solutions
Provide vision, direction, and expertise to leadership on innovative business solutions
Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and recommend innovations that enhance operations or competitive advantage
Engage strategically with professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
Mentor senior engineers and drive continuous improvement across the cloud and platform engineering ecosystem

Requirements

7+ years of Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or SRE
5+ years of experience designing and implementing CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and engineering automation solutions
5+ years of experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or comparable container platforms
5+ years of experience leading enterprise-scale platform modernization or cloud transformation initiatives
3+ years of experience defining engineering standards, architecture patterns, or platform strategies
3+ years of experience with software delivery, automation, security, and operational resiliency practices
3+ years of demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and drive engineering outcomes across large organizations
Deep understanding of SRE principles, including SLOs, SLIs, error budgets, incident management, observability, resiliency engineering, disaster recovery, and operational excellence
Expertise in observability and monitoring platforms such as Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar enterprise solutions
Industry certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Red Hat OpenShift, Cloud Platform Certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP), or SRE preferred
Must be able to work on-site at any of the listed locations
