Job summary

Mindlance in McLean, VA is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a 6-month onsite engagement. You will design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java applications, automate infrastructure with IaC, and manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes.

You will also optimize cloud resources, enforce DevSecOps practices, mentor junior engineers, and lead automation initiatives to reduce toil and improve reliability. Strong scripting and observability experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/SRE or related roles.
• Strong Java development background with JVM ecosystem knowledge.
• Hands-on with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Cloud experience (AWS preferred).
• IaC expertise with Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Scripting in Bash, Python, or Groovy.
• Experience with monitoring/logging (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Splunk).
• Understanding of networking, security, and sysadmin basics.

Position Title: Senior DevOps Engineer
Location: fully onsite in McLean, VA
Duration: 6 months with possible extension
Must Have Qualifications: Must have 5+ years of experience and hands on expertise in CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Ansible and CloudFormation. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred). Java or a similar programming language, such as Python, is preferred.
