Job summary

Talentify in McLean, VA is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join an IT services team. You will own deployment pipelines, manage AWS resources (ECS Fargate, S3, Lambda, RDS, Route53, EC2), and implement CloudFormation templates, YAML and JSON configurations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in DevOps, strong scripting (Groovy, Python), monitoring with CloudWatch and AppDynamics, and experience with Artifactory, Nexus and security-integrated pipelines.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of DevOps experience with hands-on expertise in AWS deployments and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Jenkins and pipeline automation, including PAC and security-integrated workflows.
• Proficient in AWS services (ECS Fargate, S3, Lambda, RDS, Route53, EC2) and CloudFormation.
• Strong scripting: Groovy and Python; familiarity with YAML/JSON configurations.
• Experience with monitoring/observability (CloudWatch, AppDynamics) and alerts.
• Hands-on with Artifactory/Nexus and security tooling integration (Sonar, SCA/SAST).

Job description

Our Client, an IT Services and Consultant company, is looking for a Devops Engineer for their Mclean, VA location.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of exp as DevOps
• CI/CD pipeline and Jenkins exp
• AWS deployment exp ( ECS fargate, S3, lambda, RDS, Route53, EC2 etc)
• UCD tool exp for AWS deployment ( Cloud formation, yaml, JSON )
• Experience in 2-week Sprints
• Aware of scan tools (SONAR, Fortify Scan etc)
• Experience in groovy and python scripts
• Experience in automating the process
• Created monitors, alarms and notifications for EC2 hosts using Cloud Watch and App Dynamics
• Experience with JFrog Artifactory
• Pipeline as code (PAC)
• Artifactory
• Pipeline integration with security scans (Nexus, Sonar, etc.)
• AWS CloudFormation
• Experience with working in complex environments or at minimum be able to demonstrate advanced problem solving skills - this part I want to highlight and builds on what we discussed earlier this week.
• We have immediate deliverables coming up end of Q3 and into Q4 and have minimal patience for someone who dawdles or requires hand-holding.
• This is really a 'thrown into the fire' right away type of situation and you need to know how to use the equipment at your disposal.
• Gitlab
