Job summary

ICF is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own cloud platforms across multi-account AWS environments, strengthening automation and GitOps delivery. The role collaborates with security, database, and enterprise cloud teams to provide secure, observable, and recoverable services.

The candidate will lead architecture, automation, and incident response for production workloads, ensuring scalable, reliable infrastructure and robust CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years in DevOps/cloud infrastructure with 5+ years on AWS.
• 5+ years using Terraform and IaC with reusable modules.
• 4+ years administering production Kubernetes (EKS) and GitOps.
• 3+ years building CI/CD pipelines, GitHub Actions, and Linux scripting.
• US Citizen or Permanent Resident for contract eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Own multi-account AWS environments across development, QA, staging, and production.
• Develop Terraform modules and Terragrunt configurations with remote state and drift detection.
• Administer EKS Auto Mode, Kubernetes resources using Helm, Argo CD, and ApplicationSets.
• Support GitOps controllers and Kubernetes automation, resolve failures.
• Build GitHub Actions workflows, AWS OIDC, self-hosted runners, and deployment pipelines.
• Operate Microsoft SQL Server on Amazon RDS: backups, DR, monitoring.
• Implement security controls using IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudTrail, GuardDuty.
• Build observability with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry.
