Job summary

QuantumScape is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff, Device Test and Characterization Engineer, to own cell-to-product electrical test, characterization, qualification, and validation. You will design tests, develop stress protocols, and build models to improve test coverage for high-volume production.

This hands-on role requires collaboration across process, design, materials, and systems engineering, with opportunities to shape qualification strategy and drive down DPPM.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on electrical testing across cell/module/product levels.
• Experience with reliability engineering methods (HALT/HAST, qualification testing, FMEA).
• Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or R for building test algorithms and models.
• DOE/ SPC knowledge for test planning and analysis.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with process, design, and quality teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and interpret electrical tests across cell, module, and product levels.
• Develop new tests and protocols to extend capability and coverage.
• Lead root-cause analysis of electrical failures across hierarchy.
• Define pass/fail criteria, sample sizing, and test-to-failure studies.
• Build dashboards to track test results, yield, and reliability trends.
• Partner with systems and design teams to align qualification strategies.
