Job summary

QuantumScape is seeking a Senior Cell Development Engineer to scope and lead end-to-end development for next-generation solid-state lithium-metal cells. You will drive designs, assembly processes, and integration of new materials, partnering across automation, metrology, FA and manufacturing to deliver robust platforms.

Qualifications

• Master's degree plus 3+ years in relevant field or Bachelor's with 5+ years.
• Proven track record leading projects to completion.
• Experience with electrochemistry and battery test methods.
• R&D process development including cell assembly, metrology, specs, scale-up.
• Python for data analysis/visualization and solid statistics (DoE, regression).
• Strong technical communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead integration and validation of new components and materials on cell platforms.
• Develop experiments to validate key cell design performance, reliability, and safety criteria.
• Design DOEs; apply statistical and analytical methods to evaluate approaches.
• Model reliability (Weibull, Kaplan-Meier) and relate to design/process changes.
• Define CTQ metrics, acceptance criteria, and validation plans.
• Collaborate with cell build, equipment design, safety, quality, metrology, and production teams to execute on critical path projects.
