D-Wave Quantum Inc. is seeking a talented Quantum Engineer II to advance device development. You will design, execute, and optimize measurements for quantum devices, analyze results, and contribute to validation of new concepts within a cross‑functional team.

The role emphasizes laboratory work, instrument control, automation, and robust documentation of methods and findings in a fast‑paced research environment based in New Haven.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. and/or 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related field.
• Experience with superconducting quantum devices, device physics, and measurement techniques.
• Experience in DC/RF measurements and cryogenic systems.
• Proficiency in scientific programming for instrument control, data acquisition, analysis, and automation.
• Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills.
• Strong teamwork skills in interdisciplinary physics and engineering environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and perform microwave, electrical, and cryogenic measurements.
• Maintain and optimize cryogenic and measurement systems, including associated workflows, to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
• Develop and execute experiments for device characterization and validation.
• Perform data analysis to identify device performance characteristics and key contributing factors.
• Develop and maintain experiment automation and data‑analysis pipelines.
• Identify procedure or tool issues and help implement practical improvements.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support device evaluation and provide experimental feedback into development cycles.
• Maintain well‑organized documentation of methods, results, and datasets.
