Job summary

The Browser Company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Developer Experience, to help shape the future of how we build Dia. You will influence the software factory, collaborating with AI and infra teams to expand our AI-native development stack while focusing on speed, reliability, and developer ease.

We value autonomy, high trust, and cross-team impact, with a remote-first culture and options to work from our NYC office. Candidates in North American time zones with ET overlap are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with developer tools and build environments.
• Passionate about building tools that make engineers more productive.
• Operate with staff-level autonomy and influence in direction-setting.
• Thrive in a high-trust, high-ambiguity environment.
• Hiring primarily in North American time zones with 4+ hours overlap with ET.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve the internal platform for how we build software, a SaaS-like experience for engineers and non-engineers.
• Partner with AI and infra teams to wire tools (AI coding tools, environments, CI, AI code reviewers, evals, and prompts) into a cohesive product.
• Improve ergonomics, latency, and cost of existing systems and measure success from real usage feedback.
• Turn the DevEx stack into 10x leverage for engineers and PMs.
• Set technical direction and raise engineering bar across teams through your work.
