Blue Star Families is the nation’s leading nonprofit supporting military families. The Utah Chapter seeks an Associate Director of Development to lead local fundraising efforts, cultivate donors, and build partnerships for sustainable growth.

The role partners with the Chapter Executive Director and the national team to align local strategies with organizational goals. The successful candidate will steward a donor portfolio, support grant writing, and travel for in-person events several times

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
• Proven success in individual giving, sponsorships, and/or grants.
• Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 40% and occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist Executive Director with local fundraising strategy to reach revenue goals.
• Meet or exceed annual fundraising goal of at least $100,000.
• Manage a portfolio of at least 30 new major gift prospects through donor lifecycle.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with donors, sponsors, and foundations.
• Collaborate with national team to identify funding opportunities.
• Maintain donor records in CRM and support grant writing.
• Represent the chapter at events and engage community partners.
