Job summary

The Akron Community Foundation is seeking a Director of Development to lead comprehensive fundraising strategies that grow assets, expand the donor base and strengthen donor relationships. This full-time role requires a track record in major gifts, data-informed decision making, and the ability to build a strong pipeline of new funds while managing donor portfolios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5 years of nonprofit development experience.
• Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting and securing major gifts.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Knowledge of charitable giving concepts and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive development strategy to increase gifts and funds.
• Manage a portfolio of major donors with personalized cultivation and stewardship.
• Personally solicit major, planned, and complex gifts.
• Maintain accurate donor data in the CRM and track next steps.
• Represent the foundation at meetings and community events.
• Collaborate with staff, board and volunteers.
