Job summary

Sanford Barrows Group is seeking a Senior Development Associate to join its growing real estate development team, focusing on multifamily and mixed-use projects. The role is in-office, located between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, with significant exposure to both the financial and project execution sides of development.

You will work with senior leadership across the full development lifecycle, from underwriting and feasibility to design, construction, and completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3–5+ years of relevant real estate development experience, preferably within multifamily/mixed-use.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills required.
• Strong understanding of real estate underwriting, development budgets, cash flows, and investment returns.
• Exposure to construction and/or development project management experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain detailed Excel financial models, development pro formas, budgets, cash flows, and return analyses.
• Evaluate new multifamily development opportunities and project feasibility.
• Track project budgets, costs, schedules, and overall financial performance.
• Support projects through due diligence, design, permitting, financing, construction, and completion.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, lenders, and other project partners.
• Monitor construction progress, budgets, change orders, and project milestones.
• Prepare project analysis and reporting for senior leadership.

Location: between Miami and Fort Lauderdale area (in office role, not hybrid / remote)

Salary: $125k - $150k base, depending on experience, plus bonus of up to 20%, plus benefits package.

The position will work closely with senior leadership across the full development lifecycle, from initial underwriting and feasibility through design, construction, and project completion.
