Job summary

CFS is seeking a Senior Accountant for Development Accounting in a hybrid role located in Houston, TX. You will own the project draw process and manage full-cycle accounting for multiple CRE and data center projects.

The ideal candidate has 2–3+ years in development accounting, experience with project draws, and familiarity with Yardi or similar real estate software. The role offers growth with a rapidly expanding portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–3+ years of development accounting experience within CRE/construction.
• Experience managing project draws; Yardi or similar software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own the project draw process from start to finish, including preparing draw packages and overseeing payment execution.
• Perform full-cycle development accounting for multiple active CRE and data center projects.
• Track project costs, budgets and capital expenditures with accurate allocations.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, reconciliations, and support month-end close activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure financial accuracy.
• Review construction invoices and coordinate with project teams and vendors.
• Monitor project spending and assist with cash flow planning for development activities.
• Support accounting for land acquisitions and development-related transactions throughout project lifecycles.
