Job summary

Creative Financial Staffing, LLC is seeking a Senior Accountant – Development Accounting for a rapidly growing commercial real estate developer specializing in hyperscale data center development. The hybrid schedule supports leadership engagement from land acquisition through construction.

You'll own the project draw process, manage full-cycle development accounting, track costs and budgets, and prepare journal entries and reconciliations while partnering with Controllers and project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 2–3+ years of development accounting experience within CRE, construction, industrial development, or another project-based environment.
• Experience managing project draws; Yardi or similar real estate accounting software is highly preferred.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the project draw process from start to finish, including preparing draw packages and overseeing payment execution.
• Perform full-cycle development accounting for multiple active CRE and data center construction projects.
• Track project costs, budgets, and capital expenditures with accurate allocations.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close.
• Review construction invoices and coordinate with internal project teams and external vendors.
• Assist with cash flow planning and development-related financial reporting for lenders and investors.

Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Own the project draw process from start to finish, including preparing draw packages, managing invoices, coordinating lender and investor funding requests, and overseeing payment execution.
• Perform full-cycle development accounting for multiple active commercial real estate and data center construction projects.
• Track project costs, budgets, and capital expenditures while ensuring accurate project allocations.
• Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure financial accuracy.
• Review and process construction invoices while coordinating with internal project teams and external vendors.
• Monitor project spending and assist with cash flow planning related to development activities.
• Support accounting for land acquisitions, construction costs, and development-related transactions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist with preparing financial reporting and schedules for lenders, investors, and internal leadership.
• Partner closely with Controllers and project management teams to improve processes, maintain accurate project records, and support ongoing portfolio growth.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and help strengthen accounting procedures as the development portfolio continues to expand.

Senior Accountant Qualifications:
