Seeking a highly skilled Developer to design and develop a shared DICOM Routing Module that serves as the integration foundation across multiple Cardiology and Radiology imaging vendors. This role will focus on building scalable, asynchronous imaging workflows that facilitate DICOM dispatch, image polling, image pointer packaging, and structured write-back capabilities across enterprise healthcare platforms.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in DICOM standards and protocols, healthcare imaging interoperability, event-driven architectures, and integration of PACS, VNA, and specialty imaging systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain a reusable enterprise DICOM Routing Module supporting multiple Cardiology and Radiology imaging vendors.
- Build scalable, high-performance asynchronous workflows for:
- Study and image polling
- Image metadata and pointer packaging
- Structured write-back and acknowledgment processing
- Develop integration services between PACS, VNA, imaging modalities, EMR/EHR systems, and vendor applications.
- Implement routing rules, image orchestration, workflow management, and exception handling.
- Design solutions supporting large-scale medical imaging data exchange and storage.
- Develop APIs and services enabling seamless access to imaging assets and metadata.
- Collaborate with architects, clinical informatics teams, vendors, and product stakeholders to define interoperability requirements.
- Optimize performance, reliability, monitoring, and fault tolerance for imaging workflows.
- Troubleshoot complex DICOM communication, networking, and interoperability issues.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare security, privacy, and interoperability standards.
- Produce technical specifications, design documentation, and operational support procedures.
- Mentor junior developers and participate in architecture and code reviews.
