Job summary

Uber is seeking a Developer Advocate for Cadence to empower developers building Cadence-based services. You will craft technical content, demos, and educational resources while growing and supporting the Cadence developer community.

You will collaborate with Uber engineers and users to improve the developer experience, represent Cadence at events, and help define the advocacy strategy and roadmap. Remote or hybrid in US locations is possible, with strong collaboration across teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering, developer relations, or a related technical role.
• Strong backend development experience, with Go or another backend language.
• Experience building and explaining distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, or developer platforms.
• Experience creating technical content, demos, tutorials, or presentations for developers.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage effectively with open-source communities and software developers.
• Excellent technical writing skills.
• Knowledge of setting up and debugging distributed systems on cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Familiar with Cassandra, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Kubernetes, React and languages like Go, Java, JavaScript.
• Experience with building libraries and SDKs.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow the Cadence developer community through technical content, talks, workshops, and events.
• Help developers understand, adopt, and use Cadence in production.
• Create hands-on examples, demos, tutorials, and other resources for Cadence users.
• Engage with the open-source community via GitHub, Slack, meetups, conferences, and more.
• Collaborate with Cadence engineers and users to identify gaps and improve developer experience.
• Represent Cadence at technical conferences and community events.
• Shape Cadence's developer advocacy strategy and roadmap.
