Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Staff Developer Advocate who will anchor our team as a technical leader and mentor, owning projects end-to-end and enabling our community to solve real-world problems through compelling storytelling.

You’ll work with product and engineering leaders to coach teams, craft multi-format content, and represent Datadog’s point-of-view at events. This remote, US-based role features a competitive salary and equity, plus extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5+ years of experience as a software developer, SRE, or other practitioner.
• Approximately 8+ years of experience in a senior technical leadership capacity (e.g., Principal Engineer, VP/Director+, Staff Developer Advocate).
• Approximately 3+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content (talks, writing, videos, etc.).
• You have publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or presentations on technical topics.
• You have coached and enabled others to speak publicly to technical executives.
• Experience working on technical conferences or events, as organizer or collaborator.
• You enjoy self-driven exploration and learning of new tech and languages.

Responsibilities

• Be the key technical storyteller for our senior technical executive audiences.
• Drive our first party technical event content programs (DASH, Datadog Summits) storytelling.
• Define and drive advocacy programs for technical audiences at the exec level.
• Represent Datadog’s point-of-view at events and conferences with technical leaders.
• Coach internal product/engineering leaders on effective public communication.
• Represent leadership's perspective on our solutions, culture, and industry trends.
• Partner with event organizers to ensure successful Datadog participation and content curation.
• Create content across demos, talks, blogging, docs, webinars, open source and more.
• Contribute to product feedback (bugs or enhancements).
