Job summary

Swift seeks a seasoned engineer to join our Virginia team, contributing to secure financial-technology systems. You will work on problem management, automation, auditing support, and incident handling, leveraging Linux, Python, and Ansible.

Collaboration with development teams will be essential to improve resiliency and observability. You should have a CS degree and 5–7 years of hands‑on software experience, plus experience with VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, and Git repositories.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
• 5 - 7 years hands‑on experience contributing to software development teams.
• Experience working in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• Experience with source code repositories such as GitHub and Bitbucket.
• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware and KVM.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and propose innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

• Problem Management: Resolve moderately complex problems and implement solutions per SLA.
• Audit Support: Assist with audit processes to avoid findings.
• Automation and Scripting: Leverage Python to automate repetitive tasks.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate knowledge of CI/CD, UNIX/Linux, Ansible, and ServiceNow.
• Database Knowledge: Basic knowledge of Oracle and other databases.
• Documentation and Validation: Document deployment steps and validate in test environments.
• Collaboration and Resiliency: Partner with Dev teams to build resiliency and observability.
• Incident Management and On-Call Support: Troubleshoot and restore systems; participate in on-call.

• Problem Management: Resolve moderately complex problem management issues by investigating and implementing solutions for systems/operations, including installations, setups, error messages, online transactions, system/application status, testing solutions, and operational procedures in line with service level agreements (SLA’s)

• Audit Support: Assistin supporting audit processes to ensure all audit procedures are followed and adhered to, aiming for no audit findings

• Automation and Scripting: Leverage automation and scripting, particularly with Python, toidentifyand automate repetitive tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and day-to-day work

• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrateknowledge of CI/CD tools, UNIX/Linux operating systems, Ansible and Playbooks, and ServiceNow. Familiarity with databases and message-based software systems is essential. Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems is alsorequired

• Database Knowledge: Possessbasic knowledge of Oracle and other databases, ensuring effective management and troubleshooting

• Documentation and Validation: Document deployment steps andvalidatein test environments before making them ready for production deployments

• Collaboration and Resiliency: Partner with Application Development teams to build application resiliency, implement service levelobjectives, andestablishend-to-end observability. Participate in agile/scrum or related collaborative workflows

• Incident Management and On-Call Support: Troubleshoot and restore system processing during incidents and problems. Participate in on-call rotation as needed to ensure seamless operations

We are seeking professionals with:

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $101,303.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $188,135.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Our compensation packages include a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity for all employee’s contingent on personal and company performance.
