Job summary

Swift is seeking a skilled software professional in Virginia to design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems. You will analyze requirements, prepare specifications, and provide technical recommendations while mentoring junior team members.

The role requires C/C++ and Linux (RHEL) experience, scripting in KSH/Python/Perl, and PL/SQL proficiency, with exposure to Boost, gRPC, Tuxedo, and XML in a Unix/Linux environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 1 to 4 years of C/C++ experience.
• 1 to 4 years of Linux (RHEL).
• Scripting with KSH, Python, or Perl.
• Oracle PL/SQL and ability to write efficient SQLs.
• Experience with C++, Boost, gRPC, Tuxedo, Multithreading, XML on Unix/Linux.

About The Role

What to Expect:

• In this role you will: Design, develop, test, install and support programs/systems in line with agreed requirements
• Assist with the analysis of requirements and the development of recommendations as to the systems approach to follow
• Prepare specifications, codes, tests, results, acceptance criteria, time frames, etc.
• Prepare and study the technical feasibility and estimates of the proposed systems solutions
• Analyze the problems, develop and propose solutions to more senior team members
• Provide technical assistance to other Swift colleagues and provide mentorship to more junior team members in their daily work
• Develop and maintain user documentation and prepare and give presentations to customers on systems
• Provide timing/scheduling estimates to project lead and propose corrective actions to timelines when vital

What will make you successful

We are seeking professionals with:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 1 to 4 years of C/C++ experience
• 1 to 4 years of Linux (RHEL)
• Scripting with one of the following: KSH, Python, Perl
• Oracle PL/SQL programming with ability to write efficient SQL’s
• Develop code using technologies including but not limited to C++, Boost, gRPC, Tuxedo, Multithreading, PL/SQL, Unix, Linux, Python and XML

Preferred Qualifications

• Performance tuning of applications/ databases on Linux (RHEL) systems
• Ensure compliance with Swift security policies, coding standards, development and release methodologies (CM as well as CI/CD)
• Support set-up of test environment, write unit test driver, functional drivers
• Chip into the integration team, QA and production as vital

The estimated salary range for a new hire in this position in Virginia is $82,361.00 USD Annual MINIMUM to $152,955.00 USD Annual MAXIMUM. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Our compensation packages include a competitive base salary and bonus opportunity for all employee’s contingent on personal and company performance.
