Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Developer Infrastructure group. You will design, build, and operate core developer infra services that support CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and testing infrastructure.

You will improve key productivity metrics and own services end-to-end, from architecture to on-call operations. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of production software experience, strong distributed systems fundamentals, and proficiency in Go.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software.
• Strong distributed systems fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar language.
• Experience in developer infrastructure or platform domains (CI/CD, build systems, release tooling, test infra).
• Experience operating at scale with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and containers.
• Observability and performance tooling proficiency (Datadog).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core developer infrastructure services across CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.
• Improve engineering productivity metrics including build time, deploy speed and test feedback quality.
• Own services end to end: architecture, observability, SLOs, on-call operations.
• Partner with engineering teams to translate pain points into platform improvements.
• Lead technical design for cross-cutting projects and drive them to production.
• Mentor engineers and shape the platform's technical direction.
