Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Developer Infrastructure to design, build, and operate core services that accelerate our engineers from commit to production. You’ll own end-to-end platform components, ensure reliability, security, and observability, and partner with teams to turn pain points into scalable improvements.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in production software with distributed systems, strong Go or similar language skills, and hands-on experience with Kubernetes,

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software with distributed systems skills.
• Experience shipping backend or platform systems with end-to-end ownership.
• Strong reliability, security, and observability focus.
• Excellent cross-team communication and independence.
• Experience in developer infrastructure or platform domains (CI/CD, build systems, test infra).
• Experience at scale with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and containers.
• Familiar with observability and performance tooling (e.g., Datadog).
• Responsible AI usage with human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core developer infrastructure services across CI, build, deployment, and test infra.
• Improve engineering productivity metrics (CI time, deploy speed, test feedback).
• Own services end-to-end including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call.
• Partner with Coinbase teams to turn pain points into platform improvements.
• Lead technical design for cross-cutting projects through production.
• Mentor engineers and shape platform direction.
