The Senior Detection Engineering and Threat Hunting Analyst will build scalable detections, work with ITDR, SIEM, and EDR across Windows, Linux, and MacOS, and translate threat intelligence into production rules.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in detection engineering or threat hunting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows internals.
• Experience with threat intelligence, IOCs, hypotheses, or investigations to create detections.
• Ability to communicate findings through clear written reports.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to all parts of the detection lifecycle by creating new rules, testing them before deployment, monitoring efficacy, and tuning, promoting, or retiring rules based on performance.
• Develop rules across Huntress products and OS such as ITDR, SIEM, EDR, Windows, Linux, and MacOS.
• Manage DE&TH requests from partners or internal teams.
• Undertake hypothesis-driven hunts across Huntress telemetry to surface techniques.
• Translate threat intel into detections via Git-based workflows.
• Build and refine hunting dashboards or queries to surface intrusions.
• Review ambiguous signs of attacker activity across Huntress products for deeper investigation.
• Prepare clear incident reports with actionable advice for partners.
• Contribute findings to community projects and Huntress content.
