Location: Onsite in Piedmont, SC
Pay Range: $40.00 – $53.00 per hour (based on experience and internal equity)
Schedule: Full-time, contract-to-hire

We are seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer – Plant Operations to provide advanced, hands-on technical support for a fast-paced manufacturing plant and warehouse environment. This position will serve as a primary onsite IT resource supporting production systems, rugged RF devices, mobile and thermal printers, SAP warehouse functions, endpoints, and enterprise applications.
This is a highly hands-on role for someone who can quickly troubleshoot issues across hardware, wireless networks, printing, SAP, and endpoint systems while minimizing production and shipping disruptions.
The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing or warehouse IT experience, hands-on RF device and Zebra printer support, SAP warehouse knowledge, and PowerShell scripting/automation experience.
- Serve as a primary onsite IT contact for manufacturing and warehouse operations
- Provide rapid technical support for production-line and shipping disruptions
- Support line-side workstations, industrial PCs, and vehicle-mounted computers
- Troubleshoot production-critical technology issues in coordination with plant supervisors
- Provide hands-on support throughout production floor and warehouse environments
- Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot rugged RF handheld devices, including Zebra and Honeywell devices
- Manage RF devices through SOTI MobiControl and Intune
- Troubleshoot enterprise Wi‑Fi issues including roaming, coverage gaps, and 802.1X authentication
- Support mobile and thermal label printers, including pairing, calibration, print queues, and ZPL formats
- Maintain RF device and printer inventory, spare equipment, and vendor RMA processes
- Troubleshoot SAP warehouse transactions including:
- Goods receipt
- Putaway
- Picking
- Transfers
- Goods issue
- Identify whether issues originate from the RF device, printer, network, SAP application, master data, or user authorization
- Support SAP output devices and printing
- Assist with SAP releases, cutover testing, and production support
- Train users on SAP RF transactions and workflows
- Develop PowerShell scripts to automate endpoint and printer provisioning, diagnostics, and reporting
- Use scripting and automation to improve plant-floor support and system availability
- Maintain scripts using version control and established change-management processes
- Troubleshoot Windows 11, Microsoft 365, desktops, network access, and Avaya VoIP
- Image, configure, and deploy workstations
- Support Active Directory accounts, authentication, password resets, and account access
- Manage and resolve support tickets within established SLAs
- Deploy patches and updates using tools such as Automox
- Coordinate maintenance activities around production schedules and operational windows
- Create and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base articles
- Support asset lifecycle management using tools such as Lansweeper
- Participate in plant technology initiatives, including MES and infrastructure rollouts
- Collaborate with network, SAP, systems, and vendor teams to resolve complex issues
- Serve as an escalation point and provide technical guidance to junior support staff

- Hands-on experience supporting rugged RF handheld devices
- Experience with MDM platforms such as SOTI MobiControl and/or Intune
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting thermal label and mobile printers, preferably Zebra
- Working knowledge of SAP warehouse transactions from an end-user support perspective
- Strong PowerShell scripting experience for automation and troubleshooting
- Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, networking, and enterprise Wi‑Fi
- Ability to troubleshoot issues across devices, networking, printing, and application layers
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain composed during production‑down situations
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced plant environment
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA EWM or WM RF framework
- Experience with MES platforms, particularly DELMIA Apriso
- CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MD-102, ITIL Foundation, or CWNA certification
- Experience working in SOX, J‑SOX, or other compliance-driven environments
- 100% onsite in a manufacturing plant and warehouse environment
- Frequent standing, walking, and bending throughout the facility
- Must be able to lift and transport equipment up to 30 lbs
- Must comply with plant safety and PPE requirements
- May require after-hours, weekend, or off‑shift support based on production needs
