Job summary

Roblox is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Consumer Apps Desktop team, building the Windows and macOS foundations behind Roblox sessions. You will own key parts of the launch, rendering, and shell experience, delivering performance and reliability at scale.

You will lead end-to-end projects, set coding standards, mentor others, and collaborate with product, design, and platform teams to ship polished, fast experiences for millions of players.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping client software with deep C++ expertise.
• Experience with Windows/macOS applications.
• Knowledge of Lua/React is a plus.
• Strong debugging and profiling skills across the full client stack.

Responsibilities

• Shape & improve the Windows and macOS experience that millions of players see daily.
• Own major Windows and macOS initiatives end-to-end from idea to shipped product.
• Rebuild the parts of the app the player touches: how it launches, renders, and lives in the OS.
• Set the technical standard through code reviews, mentorship, and personal contributions.
• Make platform bets that pay off for engineering teams beyond Desktop.
• Translate ambiguous product ideas into well-scoped, high-quality engineering plans in partnership with product, design, and data science.
