Job summary

Roblox in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Consumer Apps Desktop team to own the Windows/macOS foundation and drive end-to-end projects that affect millions of players.

You will partner with product, design, and platform teams to ship fast, polished experiences and set technical standards through code reviews and mentorship. 5+ years shipping client software is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping client software with deep C++ expertise.
• Experience with Windows/macOS applications and their APIs.
• Strong debugging and profiling skills across the full client stack.
• Fluency with concurrency and memory management.
• Data-driven mindset: metrics, logging, experiments.
• Ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear, well-scoped plans and communicate clearly.

Responsibilities

• Shape & improve the Windows and macOS experience that players see.
• Own major Windows and MacOS initiatives end-to-end from idea to shipped product.
• Rebuild the parts of the app every player touches: how it launches, renders, and lives in the OS.
• Set the technical standard through code review, mentorship, and by example.
• Make platform bets that pay off for engineering teams beyond Desktop.
• Translate ambiguous product ideas into well-scoped, high-quality engineering plans with product/design/data.
