Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build a reusable Electron and Chromium-based desktop platform for Autodesk web applications. You will own complex areas of the desktop runtime, guide implementation across Electron, Chromium, Node.js, and Windows, and mentor other engineers while collaborating with Autodesk teams.

This hybrid position is based out of Autodesk's Sheffield office, offering opportunities to influence platform reliability and security across the product

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and Node.js.
Experience building Electron or Chromium-based desktop applications.
Ability to design and deliver complex features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

Own significant areas of the Electron desktop platform.
Design and integrate Chromium runtime configuration and upgrades.
Develop Windows integrations and native APIs for desktop.
Lead architecture decisions, security design, and reliability.
Mentor engineers and drive effective engineering practices.
Collaborate across Autodesk teams and ensure safe web-to-desktop boundaries.
