Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Desktop & Endpoint Support Engineer in New York, NY to manage and optimize enterprise desktop environments using SCCM and Workspace ONE. The role requires 8–10+ years and onsite presence.

You will design deployment strategies, enhance OS images, automate administration, and collaborate with Security, Service Desk, and Infrastructure teams to maintain security and efficiency in a modern digital workplace.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of hands-on desktop engineering or EUC experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SCCM / Configuration Manager: software distribution, patching, OSD, task sequences, collections.
• Proven VMware Workspace ONE administration expertise.
• Solid Windows desktop OS knowledge and enterprise endpoint management practices.
• Experience implementing endpoint security and compliance controls.
• Hybrid and onsite support experience.
• Automation and scripting for operational efficiency.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise-scale desktop environments using SCCM for deployment, patching, and configuration management.
• Design and optimize SCCM collections, task sequences, and deployment strategies to improve efficiency.
• Create, maintain, and enhance Windows OS images for standardized builds and lifecycle management.
• Monitor SCCM performance; identify bottlenecks and drive remediation.
• Administer VMware Workspace ONE for device enrollment, configuration, and security.
• Configure compliance policies, device profiles, and application deployments.
• Collaborate with security to implement endpoint protection controls.
• Develop automation scripts to streamline endpoint administration.
• Troubleshoot complex deployment and endpoint issues.
• Coordinate with Service Desk, Infra, Network, and Apps teams to resolve escalations.
• Prepare technical documentation and SOPs.
• Analyze endpoint performance trends and suggest improvements.
• Drive continuous improvement for secure, efficient digital workplace services.
