Job summary

Bergmeyer is seeking a Senior Designer to join our Boston or Columbus office, leading design on retail projects from concept to construction. You will mentor teams, develop buildable solutions, and ensure design intent across multiple projects in fast-paced environments.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in retail design, proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, and familiarity with visualization tools like Enscape and Miro. Travel is required; Equal Opportunity Employer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
• NCIDQ Certification or Architecture License is a plus.
• 8+ years of recent experience in retail-based projects.
• Proficiency with Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with Enscape or similar visualization tools and Miro a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full design process from conceptual design through Construction Administration as the senior design resource on a project team.
• Mentor and guide design team members, providing thoughtful feedback and creative partnership.
• Initiate innovative design concepts and maintain design intent across multiple projects.
• Listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and bring curiosity and sound judgment to design conversations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients while building trust.

• Lead the full design process from conceptual design through Construction Administration as the senior design resource on a project team
• Mentor and guide design team members, providing thoughtful feedback and creative partnership while supporting the development of their technical and design skills
• Initiate innovative design concepts and maintain design intent across multiple projects simultaneously
• Listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and bring curiosity and sound judgment to design conversations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work closely with clients while building trust
• Comfortable navigating brand standards and working directly with brand-focused clients
• Experience with fast-paced projects and the ability to meet deadlines with high quality, thoughtful solutions
• Knowledge of retail design trends, including digital technology integration, emerging markets and retail formats, and experiential design

Employees are expected to work out of our office 3+ days a week, consistent with Bergmeyer’s Flexible Work Policy.
