Job summary

Bergmeyer designs experiences for world’s ambitious brands and is seeking a Senior Designer in Boston or Columbus to lead design on retail projects, mentor teammates, and shepherd concepts from concept through construction.

The ideal candidate is entrepreneurial, detail-driven, and thrives in fast-paced, high-profile work, with proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, and experience with Enscape and Miro.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
• NCIDQ Certification or Architecture License is a plus.
• 8–10 years of recent experience in retail-based projects.
• Proficiency with Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with Enscape or similar visualization tools and Miro a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full design process from conceptual design through Construction Administration as the senior design resource on a project team.
• Mentor and guide design team members, providing thoughtful feedback and creative partnership.
• Initiate innovative design concepts and maintain design intent across multiple projects.
• Listen actively, ask thoughtful questions, and bring curiosity and sound judgment to design conversations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients while building trust.
• Navigate brand standards and work directly with brand-focused clients.
• Meet deadlines on fast-paced projects with high-quality, thoughtful solutions.
• Maintain knowledge of retail design trends, digital tech integration, and experiential design.

You’ll take ownership of complex projects from concept through construction, mentor team members, and deliver exceptional work across a broad range of consumer environments. • Comfortable navigating brand standards and working directly with brand-focused clients

• Knowledge of retail design trends, including digital technology integration, emerging markets and retail formats, and experiential design

Employees are expected to work out of our office 3+ days a week, consistent with Bergmeyer’s Flexible Work Policy.
