Collins Aerospace is seeking a Principal Systems Engineering professional to join our Mission Systems Airborne and Ground Communication Products Department in Cedar Rapids. You will design and develop military products for protected communications, interfacing with multi-discipline teams to deliver total system solutions for domestic and international customers.

You will lead analyses, trade studies, and interface definitions to translate requirements into hardware and software specifications,

Qualifications

• Experience with the systems development process from requirements to verification and production.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 5+ years.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, architect, and design at all levels of total system products.
• Translate customer requirements into hardware/software specs and verification plans.
• Oversee system integration, verification, validation, and risk analysis.
• Lead bid and proposal efforts.
• Perform tasks in a classified lab and travel up to 10%.
