Job summary

The Haskell Company in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Project Design Manager to lead design project management for large, multi-discipline projects from proposal through closeout. You will guide design teams, ensure compliance with contracts, manage schedules and budgets, and develop client relationships while prioritizing safety and quality across all phases.

You will drive cross-disciplinary collaboration, mentor staff, and ensure project alignment with client objectives and company standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture preferred.
• 10+ years of experience including lead designer and design project management experience.
• PMI PMP certification desired but not required.
• Knowledge of architectural/engineering systems and design modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Guides career development, monitors workload and conducts performance discussions for team members.
• Ensures compliance with Prime Contract requirements.
• Develops and maintains a sequenced project design schedule and informs the team of changes.
• Prepares agreements for design consultants to minimize risk.
• Evaluates changes affecting project scope and schedule.
• Prepares clear project communications, oral and written.
• Builds relationships with clients and internal/external stakeholders.
• Understands client business needs to secure future work.
• Commitment to safe work practices during design and in the field.
• Facilitates design reviews to meet quality objectives.
• Uses standard project management tools from proposal through close-out.
• Forecasts and reports project financial performance.
