Job summary

The Haskell Company is seeking a senior design and consulting leader to guide project teams and drive business development across assigned markets.

You will recruit, develop, and retain design and consulting staff within a business unit, office, or region, while aligning design activities with corporate strategies and budgets. This role emphasizes leadership, collaboration, and delivering high-value outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture preferred.
• 12 years of progressive experience leading to independent lead designer and design management/coordination as a manager or director.
• Project management experience managing multiple large projects with several disciplines.
• Professional registration or registration eligible.
• PMI/ PMP certification preferred.
• Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, proposal writing, staffing, coordination, forecasting, conflict resolution, and change management.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication, negotiations, management and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects as described in the Project Design Director job description.
• Apply knowledge of architecture and engineering business practices to lead team members to achieve effective project outcomes and financial goals.
• Monitor project assignments and advise leadership on staff utilization.
• Coordinate project assignments with business unit leader.
• Participate in planning for organizational changes and assist leadership with change management communications plans.
• Assist leadership in developing budgets and monitor utilization and expenses.
• Support leadership in developing business strategies related to the team.
• Conduct performance reviews and career development for team members.
• May be responsible for office leadership and team member engagement.
• Participate in development of policies and procedures.
• Travel as required.
