Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Component Design Engineer for large engines (heads, blocks, housings) to concept, develop, and design complex components with global teams. You will work on diesel, natural gas, and alternative fuel engines, plan projects, and mentor teammates while staying ahead of new technology.

You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, and suppliers to release and validate core engine components for current and future programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering curriculum OR Relevant Experience.
• Analytical Thinking enables root-cause analysis and solution development.
• Effective communications to transmit and interpret ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Design core engine components as part of a global team for heads, blocks, and housings.
• Design and promote new components and sub processes.
• Perform FMEAs, plan validation, and complete validation activities.
• Evaluate new products, processes, or systems including supplier changes.
• Deliver projects on time and at cost for NTI, NPI, CPI and NSI programs.
• Communicate results to customers, suppliers, and team members.
• Lead supplier collaboration and CPPD initiatives.
