Job summary

Curtiss-Wright – Middleburg Heights is seeking a Sr Design Engineer to support the full life cycle of electrical penetration product lines. The role is onsite in Middleburg Heights, OH, with a salary of $120,000–$130,000 annually.

Responsibilities include designing to customer specs, creating detailed SolidWorks drawings, and ensuring conformance to ASME and GD&T standards while coordinating with engineering teams and ERP documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
• 6+ years work experience in a similar role required.
• Proficient in SolidWorks or other modeling software.
• Knowledge of ASME Code, ISO, ASTM, ANSI standards.
• Understanding of drawing standards ASME Y134.1/Y14.5 and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Creates, develops, and modifies designs to meet customer specs and needs.
• Provides detailed drawings using SolidWorks from sketches, layouts or notes.
• Addresses complex design challenges and analyzes technical issues.
• Troubleshoots and revises designs based on testing results and customer feedback.
• Suggests design modifications to improve product design, quality and manufacturability.
• Checks drawing plots for correctness and conformance to standards.
• Collaborates with engineers on model accuracy, drafting standards and ECN/ECR documentation.
• Verifies completed work by checking dimensions, materials and quantities.
• May assist with system management including file maintenance, backup and storage.
• Prepares documents such as assembly procedures, test procedures, installation manuals.
• Enters drawing Bills of Materials into ERP system.
