Job summary

League is building the next generation of intelligent, human-centered products. We are seeking a Principal Design Engineer to own the bridge between design and code, responsible for the design system across web, iOS, and Android, ensuring consistency and speed.

You'll lead tooling, theming, parity, and AI workflow documentation, work across teams, and set accessibility and architectural decisions. This is a senior IC role focused on infrastructure and impact.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in a hybrid design/frontend role or design engineering.
• Portfolio showing both design and build work on shipped projects.
• Authored a design system with documented decisions.
• Strong craft sensibility and ability to articulate trade-offs.
• Production React and TypeScript experience with design-to-code mapping.
• Experience using AI tools and building AI workflows with design systems.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve the design system, including theming architecture and parity with code.
• Own tooling between design and code, including token pipelines and checks.
• Build infrastructure enabling AI agents to use the design system correctly.
• Ship production code into the design system and its surfaces.
• Maintain cross‑platform consistency across web, iOS, and Android.
• Set accessibility standards within the system and drive decisions.
• Document AI workflows and teach colleagues to improve practice.
• Set craft standards and align with designers, engineers, and leads.
