Job summary

Missouri Department of Natural Resources is seeking a Senior Professional Engineer for the AML unit in Jefferson City, MO. You will design and oversee complex projects, lead a multidisciplinary team, and ensure compliance with engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program with at least four years of satisfactory engineering experience, licensure as a Professional Engineer in Missouri.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed professional plans and specifications for complex Abandoned Mine Land projects, ensuring sound engineering practices.
• Lead AML team and coordinate design and construction scope within budgets and timelines.
• Direct and coordinate work of construction, survey crews, contractors, and professionals to meet engineering design goals.
• Perform engineering reviews of coal permit applications and actions as assigned.
• Occasional travel for onsite inspection and data collection.
