Job summary

Airbus Americas, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Design Engineer (Contract) to join the Wichita, KS engineering team. You will support in repairing aircraft structures, develop quality repair solutions from a design perspective, and work with static stress and other departments to ensure airworthiness.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, up to 6 years of design experience, and the ability to work in a dynamic team. Domestic/international travel is possible, and Visa sponsorship is not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering with a strong emphasis on structural design and analysis.
• 0 to 6 years total design experience in airframe structures and/or system installation projects.
• Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Develop design solutions for simple to routine repair tasks on aircraft structures.
• Review damage reports and develop quality repair solutions with support.
• Collaborate with Static Stress, F&DT and other Airbus departments to find optimum solutions.
• Create or modify technical documents such as Technical Communications, Technical Dispositions, Repair Instructions and Drawings.
