Job summary

Georgia Power is seeking an Engineer to support installation, commissioning, testing, and lifecycle support of utility-owned DER field gateway solutions across Georgia. The role focuses on secure, scalable DER communications for real-time monitoring and control through DERMS, with hands-on field work including wiring, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of electric utility engineering or related field experience.
Ability to travel frequently across Georgia to DER sites.
Experience with DER, SCADA, OT, and secure communications is highly preferred.
Field experience with installation, commissioning, or maintenance of field equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Deploy DER field gateway solutions per requirements and standards.
Perform end-to-end field deployment including site readiness, configuration, and testing.
Support DERMS integration and OT platform interoperability.
Maintain field records, commissioning results, and as-built docs.
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and site personnel for safe deployments.
