Job summary

The Office of the Indiana Attorney General is seeking a Supervising Deputy in the Litigation Division to lead and mentor attorneys handling a broad range of civil litigation for the State. Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana and admitted to the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
• Civil litigation experience in federal and state court.
• Strong legal research and persuasive writing skills.
• Ability to supervise and mentor attorneys and staff.
• Excellent oral advocacy and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and trials.
• Advise agencies and state officials on litigation issues.
• Supervise paralegal work on discovery and related tasks.
• Participate in appellate matters depending on involvement by Appeals Division.
• Perform other legal and administrative tasks as assigned by Section Chief.
• Maintain an appropriate caseload while managing supervisory duties.
