Job summary

The Deputy Attorney General for Administrative and Regulatory Enforcement Litigation represents the State of Indiana in complex civil litigation matters in state and federal courts, including constitutional challenges, election law, environmental law, and enforcement actions.

The role covers all phases of litigation from research and pleadings through trial, client consultation, and settlement negotiation, with potential appellate participation and supervision of paralegal staff.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana and admitted to U.S. District Courts for Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana.
• Civil litigation experience in federal and state court.
• Knowledge of federal and state practice rules, Section 1983 litigation, and administrative law.
• Strong legal research and writing skills with emphasis on clear, persuasive writing.
• Excellent oral advocacy in litigation settings and ability to negotiate settlements.
• High ethical standards, awareness of conflicts of interest, and ability to manage complex, high-profile caseloads.

Responsibilities
