Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, health administration, or related area; 8+ years in admin/financial ops.
• Experience leading an academic research department or large federally funded portfolio.
• Ability to coach faculty and supervise managers; strong conflict management.
• Advanced knowledge of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and audits.
• Strong negotiation, strategic planning, and policy implementation skills.
• Proven track record in fiscal stewardship and stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management, budget development and reporting for the department.
• Lead academic personnel, HR processes, and sponsored research administration.
• Manage space, facilities, IT, and regulatory compliance operations.
• Direct business operations of centers, cores, and training programs.
• Serve as liaison to Health Sciences, School of Medicine and external partners.
• Provide strategic guidance to Department Chair and oversee resource stewardship.
