University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) seeks an Administrator in the Department of Pharmacology and Physiology to lead strategic financial management, oversight of grants and contracts, and regulatory compliance for sponsored research. The role supervises a business office team and partners with leadership to deliver high-quality services.

You will manage pre- and post-award activities, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements and internal policies.

Qualifikationen

• Education: Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.
• Experience: 9+ years in admin/financial ops, 3+ years in basic science/clinical research.
• Preferred: accounting, budgeting, auditing, internal controls, or financial analysis in academia.
• Supervisory: 3+ years in recruiting, training, and staff development.
• Certification: Certified Research Administrator preferred.

Aufgaben

• Ensure compliance with sponsored research (federal/non-federal), VA, and private funding.
• Implement internal controls and audit systems to mitigate risks.
• Advise Chair and Faculty; represent department with internal/external partners.
• Manage day-to-day activity, pre- and post-awards, and budgets.
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and annual Deans General funds (~$5M).
• Provide guidance on all funded research and sponsor requirements.
• Ensure grants/contracts comply with laws and SPA review.
